Shot entirely on expired 16mm film stock, Expiry is a collaboration between filmmaker Huw Wahl and his father Ken Turner (b. 1926), the oldest living performance artist and painter in the UK. Through movement, breath, painting, conversations between his parents, and a series of environmental and human encounters, this deeply personal work is a love letter to ageing playfully and the power of creative action.

The film is released in conjunction with the exhibiton Ken Turner at 100: A Century of Crashing Culture at Wharfside Art Hub (runnning 23/07-04/08). Spanning a century of 'ongoing rebellion' the show features Ken's latest paintings, performance art, and film (including My Ride Over a Tesla), and seeks to answer the question: how does an artist stay contemporary for a century?
