Job Description: Sous Chef

Reporting to: Head Chef

Key Duties

- Overall responsibility for daily operations in the kitchen when on duty.

- Preparing & cooking food, ensuring standard portions and quality of dishes.

- To Develop new dishes and overhauling menus to attract more clientele.

- To liase with front of house at start of service with current menu, ingredients and allergen

information .

- Maintaining or raising the profit margins on food and costing each dish.

- Liaising with suppliers for food orders and source quality produce at affordable prices.

Managing the inventory and ordering stock as needed.

- Overseeing the maintenance of kitchen whilst on duty equipment and reporting repairs when

needed to Head Chef .

- Ensuring that the kitchen adheres to quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards and


- Ensuring that guests receive excellent service and enjoy their culinary experience.

- Maintaining a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers.

20-25 hrs a week
